What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure used to clear up scarring from acne, stretch marks, previous accidents, and surgeries. Microneedling involves the use of microscopic needles that consistently prick the skin in the areas of need to help smoothen out and tighten the skin. Microneedling is also used to lessen fine lines and wrinkles.
Patients would consider microneedling as a treatment choice for a multitude of reasons, including but not limited too:
Diminishing scarring from acne, surgical scarring, and previous accidents
Fade stretch marks
Treating skin discoloration
Reducing wrinkles and fine lines
Lifting, smoothing, and tightening the skin
How Microneedling Works
Here at Glow Aesthetic Center, microneedling is done with a special medical grade tool called the Rejuvapen. The rejuvapen uses 11 microscopic needles to prick and puncture the epedermis in order to tell your body it needs to heal itself in those areas. These punctures are invisible to the naked eye, however your body knows its there and will attempt to heal itself. When your body is healing, collagen and elastin flood the area, in which your skin begins to renew and regenerate.
Depending on the area of treatment, the type of damage or scarring, and the patients body, it can take anywhere between 3-6 sessions to see the full results of microneedling. We suggest a month between each session so the body has enough time to heal itself before we move onto the next session. Here at Glow Aesthetic Center, we are happy to offer packages with discounts to those patients who are looking to have full results with their treatment for the scarring or other needs with microneedling.
Patients should expect 2-4 days of downtime from microneedling, especially if it is done on the face. Patients will experience redness on their face right after the treatment that may last up to 4 days, this is normal. We do not suggest a patient wears makeup for the first 2 days as the treatment completaly opens up the pores of the patient and makeup will cause clogging and a possibility of infection. Do not scratch your face, and we suggest you stay out of sunlight for the time being until the redness has died down. If patient has any questions or concerns about their treatment, they are suggested to contact Glow Aesthetic Center and their practitioner will go over their concerns with them.
